My husband and I are having a problem agreeing on a business name for our vintage auto restorations shop and we would like honest opinions from strangers to help us make a decision. Names are made up but similar to the ones we are using. :) For the last three years we have been doing business under a woman's name. "Ruby's Classic Car Restorations." There has been talk about changing the name because it is similar to nearby restaurants Ruby's and Ruby Tuesdays. Plus, we would like to offer more than just vintage auto repair...we want to do custom work. The other option is using our last name, which is almost never pronounced correctly and calling it "__last name___ Custom's and Classics." That is more original and less feminine and less likely to be confused with a food joint. The downside is that since our last name is butchered almost daily that people would be confused since the way it looks and the way it sounds are nothing alike (it's a German name). On the other hand, there are very famous car restoration places with names people have just learned to pronounce correctly, like Foose. So what are your thoughts?
